Royal Albert is the world's most popular bone china, lov. Ed for its inherent beauty and unique designs. The success of Royal Albert's royal association dates back to the late 1800s. In 1896, Thomas Wild took over the Albert Works near Stoke-on-Trent - the factory named the year before to commemorate the birth of Prince Albert.

In 1897, Thomas Wild & Co produced a range of commemorative wares to celebrate Victoria's Diamond Jubilee: an association with royalty that continues to this day and which led to the name of Royal Albert. Exquisite decoration features hand-painted bouquets of multi-coloured flowers and foliage in wall mounted planters. Extensive use of gilt to all pieces, over a white ground, with delightful patterns and border. Generous gilding to the handles, footings, and scalloped rim of the cups and milk jug, and the gently scalloped rims of the plates and saucers, is bright and intact. All pieces are in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing, and produce that wonderfully satisfying'PING'. Gilding is bright and intact. The cups measure 2.5"/6.5cms high and 2.75"/7cms in diameter. Saucers measure 5.5"/14cms in diameter and the side plates 6"/15.5cms square.
